Financial History

In January 2008 we obtained our own charitable organization number, and in March Nexus opened its own bank account. Prior to 2006, Nexus existed as a ministry of CARES Counseling and Restoration Services, and remained dependent on that organization for accounting and bookkeeping until early 2008. Although we are now our own organization we remain connected to and supportive of the values and mission of CARES.

As a church, nexus is governed by a Board consisting of women and men who are part of the Nexus community and have expertise in business, social work, accounting and church work.

Our Current Financial Picture

Nexus is currently working under an operating budget of about $90,000. This amount covers salaries, facility rentals, and minimal expenses associated with the daily operating costs of nexus.

How You Can Support nexus

All gifts to nexus are tax-deductible. nexus is a registered charity in Canada and exists entirely on the donations of private individuals who support its values and mission. If you wish to receive a tax-deductible receipt at year-end please send your full mailing address to Rob Quiring.

One Time Gifts – If you would like to donate in this way, you can either drop a check off at our office, through mail or the information table at nexus [Live] on Sunday evenings.

On-going Monthly Support – Ongoing support is similar to the practice of tithing to a church. We are able to facilitate pre authorized payments from your bank account, or monthly gifts on VISA or Mastercard. If you are interested in supporting nexus on a monthly basis, please fill out an EFT form and submit it to our office.

If you are a regular attendee of nexus we are accountable to you. We have an open-book policy about our budget and spending procedures and we are open to your input and suggestions. You can forward these to our present treasurer Rob Quiring.
